Protect Your Ride With These Laid-Back Camp Anime Safety Charms

Laid-Back Camp

Sometimes when you’re on the road, you just need a little bit of charm to keep you safe. Luckily, Laid-Back Camp has you covered with some adorable magnets that attach to your vehicle of choice–though, you have to travel to Yamanashi to pick them up.

This weekend will see the annual “drive safely” pilgrimage to Minobusan’s Kuonji Temple to pray for safe driving over the next year which will see over 100 scooters drive up the mountain to bring blessings. Among those scooters is the real-life version of Rin Shima’s scooter, which made the drive up the mountain in the anime franchise.

To celebrate the pilgrimage, cute Laid-Back Camp “drive safely” charm magnets will be available in some stores in Yamanashi that can attach to any type of vehicle. Sales for them start on March 18, the same day as the pilgrimage for 1,000 yen (US$7.50) each.

The latest Laid-Back Camp work that was released was the Laid-Back Camp Movie, which was released in Japan back in July 2022 and is streaming on Crunchyroll. A third TV anime season is in production. Crunchyroll streams the first two seasons of the TV anime, which adapts the manga of the same name by afro, describing the series as such:

Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
