The idol-themed franchise was launched with its first arcade game Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt in July 2010. Then it expanded to the three Pretty Rhythm TV anime series from 2011 to 2014. After that, it was succeeded by the two Pripara series, Pripara and Idol Time Pripara from 2014 to 2018, Kiratto Pri☆Chan from 2018 to 2021, and Waccha Primagi! from 2021 to 2022.

As the third installment of the franchise, Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live was aired for 51 episodes from April 2013 to March 2014. Then its successful boy idol-themed spin-off series KING OF PRISM released two films in 2016 and 2017, and one TV series, KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars-, from April to July 2019.

The story of Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live centers on Naru Ayase, an eighth grader who has a good imagination and can see the colors of music when she hears it. She is good at decorating everything, and her dream is to become the manager of a store like “Dear Crown.” One day, she found out that a newly opened store was looking for a junior high school girl who could prism dance as a store manager, and she immediately applied for the position. She was chosen from among many applicants and went to the final interview for the prism dance. As Naru begins to dance the prism dance, suddenly a live performance space she has never seen before opens up and a mysterious girl named Rinne appears in front of her. She says, “Can you see it? Rainbow Music…”

As part of the anniversary project, collaboration cafes will open at AMOCAFE Ikebukuro in Tokyo and Oshi Cafe Namba Marui in Osaka from April 18 to May 14. In addition to an exhibition featuring the 10th anniversary commemorative visual, the store will offer a collaborative menu and screen videos that recalls the memories of the series. Also, a campaign to link with the latest installment of Pretty Series, Waccha Primagi!, and sales of the commemorative products are also planned.
