Pokémon Worlds in Japan Evolves to Include Weeklong PokéEvents

Pokémon Worlds

Every August, Pokémon takes over the port town of Yokohama just south of Tokyo with events such as the Pikachu Outbreak march and other summer fun — though that stopped due to the pandemic. This year, the Pokémon World Championships are returning to Japan for the first time in a while, putting the yearly plans up in the air until now.

Not only will the Pikachu Outbreak return to Yokohama this year with one of the biggest parades ever on the Monday, but alongside the Pokémon World Championships will be the Pokémon Center Worlds with some exclusive merchandise, three Pokémon Fantastic Live Shows — We Move!!, Imagination! Into the Next!! and Pikachu Gathering!! — the Pokémon Trainer Cruise, and the Pokémon Matsuri Park, with stalls inspired by a normal matsuri with a Pokémon theme.

Pokémon decorations will also be all over Yokohama under the Pokégenic banner. Here is a preview of them:

Tickets for all the events, including the Pokémon Center Worlds but excluding the cruise and Pikachu Gathering!!! show, are only available through a lottery system with applications available until July 3. All events will be held in Yokohama’s Minatomirai area from August 8 to 14.
