Pokémon Combines First Japanese and English Anime Opening Into Dope Remix

Just one utterance of the phrase “I wanna be…” will throw any Pokémon anime fan into the full one-minute rendition of the original anime opening theme song–a song that is a core memory for basically every single person who grew up in that time period. But you’ve never heard it like this.

 

The Pokémon Company collaborated with Night Tempo and released a banger remix that combines the first English opening theme song “Gotta Catch ‘em All” with the first Japanese opening theme “Mezase Pokémon Master,” giving us a track that spans borders and generations.

For those watching the current seasons of the Pokémon anime, the latest batch of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series launched on February 24 on Netflix in the US, with the final batches, which feature Ash’s final episodes, being released at a later time. The newest Pokémon anime which features the first new protagonists in the history of the franchise starts in Japan in April.
