Pascal is Peaceful in NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV Anime Teaser Trailer

Pascal, a peaceful Machine Lifeform, cocks its head quizzically in a scene from the upcoming NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV anime.

 

Not every Machine wants to fight, and now a new teaser visual and a new teaser trailer have been published for NieR:Automata Ver1.1a, an upcoming TV anime based on the ground-breaking science fiction action RPG developed by PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix about two factions of artificial lifeforms waging war in the ruins of a far-flung future Earth.

 

The visual and teaser trailer (below) feature Pascal, a pacifist Machine Lifeform who leads a village of peaceful Machines, and it has also been confirmed that voice actor Aoi Yuki reprises her role as Pascal from the NieR:Automata game in the TV anime adaptation.

Square Enix describes the story of the original NieR:Automata video game as follows:

 

The distant future…

 

Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing a new type of threat: weapons known as “machine lifeforms.” In the face of this insurmountable threat, mankind is driven from Earth and takes refuge on the Moon.

 

The Council of Humanity organizes a resistance of android soldiers in an effort to take back their planet. To break the deadlock, the Resistance deploys a new unit of android infantry: YoRHa .

 

In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…

The NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV anime is directed by Ryouji Masuyama and features animation production by A-1 Pictures. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in January of 2023.
