Oshi no Ko Anime Special Update Livestream to Be Held In Late February

The official website and social media accounts for the forthcoming Oshi no Ko TV anime adaptation have announced a new livestream event that will be held next month on YouTube.

The event, called the Oshi no Ko Latest Information Presentation, will stream on Sunday, February 19 and feature cast members Rie Takahashi, Yurie Igoma, and emcee Chiaki Matsuzawa revealing additional updates on the anime ahead of both its first episode Japanese theatrical screening in March and the April premiere on Japanese TV. Yen Press currently publishes the manga in English with the first volume being released earlier this month.

Theatrical Screening Key Visual

Based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish), Oshi no Ko is being directed by Daisuke Hiramaki (Asteroid in Love) and assistant-directed by Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail) at studio Doga Kobo, with series composition by Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp) and character designs by Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend).

Sentai Filmworks has also licensed the anime and streaming service HIDIVE will stream it starting in April. The service describes it:

When a pregnant young starlet appears in Gorou Amemiya’s countryside medical clinic, the doctor takes it upon himself to safely (and secretly) deliver Ai Hoshino’s child so she can make a scandal-free return to the stage. But no good deed goes unpunished, and on the eve of her delivery, he finds himself slain at the hands of Ai’s deluded stalker — and subsequently reborn as Ai’s child, Aquamarine Hoshino! The glitz and glamor of showbiz hide the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry, threatening to dull the shine of his favorite star. Can he help his new mother rise to the top of the charts? And what will he do when unthinkable disaster strikes?
