Odo wrote in his message that like Franky, he is undergoing eye surgery to make “beams come out of [his] eyes.” On a more serious note, the manga creator wrote that his eyes have been getting worse lately, with his vision becoming blurred and interfering with his work. So after talking about it with the Editor-in-Chief, Oda is going on leave to “come back with better eyesight and to be able to beam!”
