One Piece Film Red’s Uta Tops Niconico and Pixiv’s 2022 Internet Buzzword List
2022 was a huge year for One Piece, especially in its home nation of Japan. This was mostly due to the box office-breaking One Piece Film Red anime film and its breakout star Uta, which saw chart success thanks to her singing voice Ado and cavalcade of Japan’s best composers.
Uta’s success continues today with the announcement that the One Piece character has topped the 100 Interview Buzzword ranking of 2022 as compiled by Japanese websites Niconico and Pixiv. The rankings are decided by how many people accessed the pages of the ranked word through Niconico and Pixiv’s online dictionaries and encyclopedias.

It’s interesting to see that while Uta dominated the rankings, SPY x FAMILY still made two appearances with Yor being more popular than Anya in page rankings and the variety of shows represented – it’s not just anime!
