NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV Anime Goes Inside the Bunker in New PV

Commander, the leader of the YorHa android forces, offers a salute in a scene from the upcoming NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV anime.

 

Glory to Mankind! A new teaser trailer, a new key visual, and new cast confirmations have been revealed for NieR:Automata Ver1.1a, the upcoming TV anime based on the smash-hit science fiction action RPG directed by Yoko Taro, developed by PlatinumGames, and distributed by Square Enix about an army of androids taking on invading alien machines on a post-apocalyptic, far future Earth.

 

If has been confirmed that more voice actors will be reprising their roles from the original video game, including:

 

  • Chiaki Kano as Commander.
  • Keiko Isobe as Operator 60.
  • And Meari Hatsumi as Operator 210.

Square Enix describes the story of the original NieR:Automata video game as follows:

 

The distant future…

 

Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing a new type of threat: weapons known as “machine lifeforms.” In the face of this insurmountable threat, mankind is driven from Earth and takes refuge on the Moon.

 

The Council of Humanity organizes a resistance of android soldiers in an effort to take back their planet. To break the deadlock, the Resistance deploys a new unit of android infantry: YoRHa .

 

In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…

The NieR:Automata Ver1.1a TV anime is directed by Ryouji Masuyama and features animation production by A-1 Pictures. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in January of 2023.
