Synopsis

 

Androids fight against machines in a thousands-year war in the adaptation of NieR:Automata.

 

Original game synopsis:

 

The distant future…

 

Invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing a new type of threat: weapons known as “machine lifeforms.” In the face of this insurmountable threat, mankind is driven from Earth and takes refuge on the Moon.

 

The Council of Humanity organizes a resistance of android soldiers in an effort to take back their planet. To break the deadlock, the Resistance deploys a new unit of android infantry: YoRHa .

 

In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…

The original NieR:Automata game came out on the PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, 2017, with North America following on March 7 and PAL regions on March 10. It was eventually released on PC on March 17, 2017, and then Xbox One on June 26, 2018, selling more than 5.5 million copies over all the versions. It was directed by the moon on the earth Yoko Taro and follows 2B and 9S as they battle a mechanical invasion alongside the Resistance.
