My Hero Academia Manga Takes Week Off Due to Horikoshi’s Health

My Hero Academia

The official Twitter account for the My Hero Academia manga announced yesterday that the series will be skipping this weekend’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine due to manga creator Kohei Horikoshi being in poor health – though, it isn’t specified what Horikoshi is sick with.

The latest chapter was scheduled to be released in the third issue of 2023, which was to release on December 19, but is now set to continue its heroic journey in the merged issue 4 and 5, which releases in Japan on December 26.

The sixth season of My Hero Academia TV anime continues after the series premiered in Japan on October 1 with Crunchyroll streaming the newest season as it airs. This season comes in two parts that are set to air consecutively over this current anime season and the next. Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the series:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.
