Kadokawa has released a new trailer for The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess (a.k.a. Tensei Ojo to Tensai Reijo no Maho Kakumei in Japanese). The trailer has all sorts of useful information, including the fact the anime will debut in January, plus more credits on the cast and opening song.
According to the trailer, Ai Kakuma plays Illya Coral, Shogo Sakata plays Algard von Palletia, Hina Yomiya plays Lainie Cyan, and Yū Sasahara plays Tilty Claret.
The opening theme song, which is in the trailer, is called “Arcane Shell” and performed by Hanatan.
The anime is being made at diomedéa, with Shingo Tamaki of Aho Girl helming the project as the director. My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong’s Wataru Watari has been given the task of being in charge of scripts. Character design credit goes to Naomi Ide, who has previously worked on Riddle Story of Devil.
Before becoming an anime, The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess consisted of the light novel series and the manga adaptation series. These are published by Yen Press, who gave this description of the plot:
“Despite her supposed ineptitude with regular magic, Princess Anisphia defies the aristocracy’s expectations by developing “magicology,” a unique magical theory based on memories from her past life. One day, she witnesses the brilliant noblewoman Euphyllia unjustly stripped of her title as the kingdom’s next monarch. That’s when Anisphia concocts a plan to help Euphyllia regain her good name-which somehow involves them living together and researching magic! Little do these two ladies know, however, that their chance encounter will alter not only their own futures, but those of the kingdom…and the entire world!”
The original series started out by being published by the website Shōsetsuka ni Narō! Later on, it got picked up by Kadokawa.
