Mafumafu’s Play It Cool, Guys Anime Opening Theme MV Conveys Freshness and Conflict of Youth

The official YouTube channel for Japanese singer Mafumafu has started streaming a music video for his latest digital single song “Seishun Kippu” (Youth Ticket), which is now used as the opening theme for the fall 2022 TV anime Play It Cool, Guys. He has been on hiatus from his solo activities since June of this year due to a period of recuperation from physical and mental illnesses, and this song written/composed/arranged by himself was recorded before he ceased his activities.

Message from Mafumafu:

I am Mafumafu, who is honored to be asked to sing the theme song. He looks a cool boy, but actually he is a little goofy. I think that “gap” is a magic that somehow makes people look attractive. I am convinced that the daily life of such cool and cute boys is a rare sight that is coveted by everyone in this modern society, and brings salvation to our worn-out hearts. I love comedic anime. I am looking forward to it very much.

The music video was created by Tsuda, a visual artist who was also worked on the song’s digital jacket illustration, and is set on a train and station platform, giving it a fresh, fast-moving feel linked to the lyrics.
