Love Live! Sings the High Note This New Year’s With Akihabara Atre Take Over

Love Live! School Idol Project

Akihabara and the Love Live! franchise are intrinsically linked, both in the story and in real life. While the later series has shied away from the otaku town, the beating heart of the original Love Live! School Idol Project TV anime still runs deep within all the idol generations that have come after.

Going back to the roots of the Love Live! franchise, the series will be featured at Atre Akihabara over New Year’s with a brand new illustration of μ in their painter outfits splashed on the giant glass front that welcomes everyone to Akiba.

Inside the Atre, a pop-up shop will be open selling new goods from the original Love Live! School Idol Project, including merch featuring some of their iconic outfits as well as the new painter outfits.

Not wanting to be left out, the girls from Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club will be featured on cards given out at target shops in Atre every time one spends 500 yen (US$3.69) on merch. The Nijigasaki cards will be given out from December 26 to 31 with μ cards given out from January 2 to 13, 2023.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is the latest Love Live! series with a theatrical OVA set to hit theaters in Japan in Summer 2023. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the two seasons of the series, alongside the rest of the anime generations, describing Nijigasaki as such:

Nijigasaki High School is known for their diverse subjects and the freedom they give to students. Second-year student Yu Takasaki has been turned on to the charms of school idols, so she knocks on the door of the School Idol Club with her friend, Ayumu Uehara.

Sometimes friends, sometimes rivals, the members of this club each contribute their own thoughts and motivations to the group.
