Lonely Castle in the Mirror Film’s Protagonist VA Ami Touma Also Stars in Theme Song Music Video
Singer-songwriter Yuuri has posted a music video for his new digital single song “Merry-Go-Round,” which is now featured as the theme song for the anime film Lonely Castle in the Mirror. The song was released on December 22, then ranked No.1 on the Oricon’s daily digital single chart.

Yuuri says that “Merry-Go-Round” is a song about loving those you love who have been separated from you, expressing the growing up and thoughts of each of the seven children depicted in the film. “I hope that everyone who has seen the film will feel the theme song in their own way, and that this song will accompany you into your not-alone future. “
Ami Touma, who voiced the film’s protagonist, Kokoro, also stars in the clip that depicts a warm but sad coming-of-age story. “This song that combines the lyrics that appeal to the heart and Yuuri-san’s singing voice made it sad but compelling, and I immediately listened to it from my heart,” she said. “The music video depicts a man and a woman who are in love with each other while growing apart. I would be happy if you could watch the music video along with Yuuri-san’s wonderful singing voice.”

The anime film adaptation of Mizuki Tsujimura’s fantasy novel Kagami no Kojou (English edition title: Lonely Castle in the Mirror) was released in 307 theaters across Japan on December 23, then earned 140 million yen (1.04 million USD) and ranked sixth in its first weekend. The film was directed by Keiichi Hara (Crayon Shin-chan films, Birthday Wonderland) and A-1 Pictures (Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Sword Art Online) worked on anime production.
