Laid-Back Camp Manga Goes on Hiatus Until February

The Laid-Back Camp manga is already pretty chill as is, but there’s nothing more chill than taking a much-needed break. Manga author Afro announced that their series will be doing just that, and as such will be on hiatus until February 3, 2023.

Known as Yurucamp in Japan, the Laid-Back Camp manga first kicked off in the pages of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine back in 2015 before moving to Comic Fuz in 2019, and the 14th volume will hit shelves in Japan on November 10.

Yen Press publishes the manga in english and has released 12 volumes so far. The anime adaptation is available to stream on Crunchyroll, which describes the series like so:

Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.

There’s also a live-action TV series, video games and an anime film, the latter of which made its way to theaters in Japan on July 1.
