Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible Manga Ends

kubo won't let me be invisible

A couple pieces of news arrived for Nene Yukimori’s Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga, including plans for the TV anime to return to the airwaves following a COVID-related delay. The series will be back on screens starting on April 4, and alongside that we learned that the source material has officially come to an end.

The final chapter was published in Young Jump this week, putting a nice bow on a three-and-a-half-year run that ended up at 144 chapters. The 12th and final collected volume is scheduled to go on sale in Japan on April 18.

Rent-a-Girlfriend director Kazuomi Koga is at the helm for the TV anime adaptation, with Yuya Takahashi (Selection Project) on series composition and Yoshiko Saito (animation director on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) handling character designs at anime studio PINE JAM (Kageki Shojo!!). The anime is currently available to stream via HIDIVE.

The original manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus app. Here’s the official synopsis:

First year high schooler Junta Shiraishi is a mob character who goes unnoticed even when he’s standing right next to you. But his classmate, “heroine-level beauty” Kubo, always notices him and is there to tease him. Anyone can become special to someone, but it might be a little too early to call these feelings “love.” Perhaps this story is still two-steps from being a romantic comedy–let’s call it a sweet comedy where a background character becomes visible!
