kubo won't let me

Nene Yukimori’s Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible manga is officially getting its anime adaptation underway on January 10, but that’s not the only new piece of info we have for this one. The second promo debuted along with new details on the cast and staff, so check it out below and read on for the latest additions.

New cast members include Mamiko Noto as Junta’s mother, Yoshie Shiraishi; Mariya Ise as Junta’s little brother, Seita Shiraishi; and Naoki Tatsuta as Kubo and Junta’s homeroom teacher, Unsen-sensei.

The latest staff additions are:

  • Chief Animation Director: Yoshiko Saito, Kou Aine
  • Art Director: Sumiko Aihara
  • Color Key Artist: Yasuji Sakagami
  • Compositing Director of Photography: Shinya Matsui
  • Editing: Megumi Uchida
  • Sound Director: Yuichi Imaizumi
  • Music: Kujira Yumemi
  • Sound Effect: Yuika Shiraishi
  • Sound Production: Glovision

Rent-a-Girlfriend director Kazuomi Koga is at the helm for this one, with Yuya Takahashi (Selection Project) on series composition and Yoshiko Saito (animation director on Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) handling character designs at anime studio PINE JAM (Kageki Shojo!!).

The original manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus app, which sums up the story:

First year high schooler Junta Shiraishi is a mob character who goes unnoticed even when he’s standing right next to you. But his classmate, “heroine-level beauty” Kubo, always notices him and is there to tease him. Anyone can become special to someone, but it might be a little too early to call these feelings “love.” Perhaps this story is still two-steps from being a romantic comedy–let’s call it a sweet comedy where a background character becomes visible!
