Kino’s Journey Stage Play Adaptation Set to Return in June 2023
Following the well-received first show in May 2022, the official website for the stage play adaptation of Keiichi Sigsawa’s fantasy light novel series Kino’s Journey -the Beautiful World- announced today that the second show is scheduled to be performed at the OwlSpot Theatre in Tokyo from June 15 to 25, 2023. After the pre-registration on the website from March 1 to 21, general sales of the 8,800-yen ticket will begin on April 22.
“Kino’s Journey is back! It’s the second show!” the novel author Sigsawa says. “As with the previous show, I will be watching from the audience seat! ‘Kino’s Journey’ performed by real actors in front of me gave me a very strange sensation. It is a feeling I have never experienced before, as if I am in a different world. I have high expectations for the second show!”
The first show of the novel’s first stage play adaptation was preformed at Theater Sun Mall in Tokyo from May 18 to 22, 2022. The first show’s director Taka Yamamoto is confirmed to return, and Keito Sakurai (Shuji Miwa in the World Trigger stage plays) will reprise his role as the protagonist, Kino.
Sakurai says, “We were able to come back for the first time in almost a year. I would like to thank all of you who have supported us. In addition to our dependable company members, new cast members have joined us. I can only look forward to this. I feel the stage ‘Kino’s Journey’ has unlimited possibilities. I am sure that the audience will have a variety of emotions when they see it. When I played Kino myself, I saw a different world in each show. Please come and experience this feeling. Let’s go on a journey with us to a beautiful world.”
