King & Prince Member Ren Nagase Makes Guest Voice Appearance in Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia Film
The official website for the forthcoming feature film Doraemon: Nobita to Sora no Utopia / Nobita’s Sky Utopia announced today that Ren Nagase, a 23-year-old member of Johnny & Associates’ boy idol group King & Prince, makes a guest voice appearance as the film’s original character, Sonya. This is his first voice acting work.
Sonya is introduced as: “A perfect cat-shaped robot living in Paradapia, a world in the sky where everyone can live happily and everything is perfect. At first, he attacks Doraemon and his friends as if they were enemies, but gradually they open up to each other and develop a friendship.” A new trailer introducing Nagase’s character voice as Sonya is now streamed online.

It was also announced that the nationally popular Doraemon franchise’s 42nd anime feature film is set to be released in Japan on March 3, 2023. Takumi Doyama, who has worked on many episodes of the Doraemon TV series, serves as the director of a Doraemon feature film for the first time. And Ryota Kosawa (GREAT PRETENDER) works on the screenplay.
