KING OF PRISM Anime Celebrates Its 7th Anniversary with Special Screening Events
To celebrate the seventh anniversary of the KING OF PRISM boy idol anime-themed franchise, a special event “KING OF PRISM 7th Anniversary Screening Event -Shiny Seven Years-“ is set to be held in Tokyo on February 25 and 26, March 4, and in Osaka on March 4 and 5.

The franchise was originally launched in January 2016 as a spin-off to the 2013-2014 TV anime Pretty Rhythm: RainbowLive, the third installment of the Pretty series co-produced by Tatsunoko Production and Dong Woo Animation.
Its first film KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm was released in January 2016, and its sequel KING OF PRISM: Pride the Hero followed in June 2017. Then, its third installment KING OF PRISM: Shiny Seven Stars was screened in four chapters from March to May 2019, and its 12-episode TV series edition was also aired from April to July 2019. And KING OF PRISM ALL STARS – Prism Show☆Best 10 –, a compilation film featuring the Prism Show idols’ stage performance scenes selected from the 29 songs in the film series, was released in January 2020.
In this event, these seven theatrically released films will be screened together, allowing fans to enjoy the seven-year history of the franchise. In addition, each screening event will include special seventh anniversary preview videos – “Let’s Visit Over The Rainbow’s Live!” for the first day and “A Competition Match against Schwarz Rose!?” for the second day. Newly recorded voices of one of the main characters, Shin Ichijo, will be featured in the vidoes.
More importantly, with the lifting of restrictions on events to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Japan, audience are allowed to cheer loudly for their idols at all screenings.
