Kaiju No. 8 TV Anime’s Soshiro Hoshina Joins Brawl in Character Visual
The Division marches forward with the reveal of another character design!
Today, the upcoming Kaiju No. 8 TV anime shows off the design for Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina. This smiling swordsman from Division 3 clears a path for Captain Mina Ashiro, standing by her side right where series protagonist Kafka Hibino wants to be.

Production I.G provides animation production for Kaiju No. 8, while Studio Khara provides monster designs and artworks. Additional details about the series, such as other key staff and the main cast, have not yet been revealed. Kaiju No. 8 will broadcast in Japan in 2024.
The original Kaiju No. 8 manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ digital manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from VIZ Media, who describe the story of the first volume as follows:
Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
