Japanese Superstar LiSA Announces Birth of First Child

One of Japan’s most renowned singers, LiSA, went to social media tonight to reveal that she had recently given birth to her first child. The 35-year-old surprised fans with the news, with no mention prior to this announcement, nor any details shared through various images posted on social media from the last couple of months.

LiSA is best known as the artist behind Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba‘s opening theme songs “Gurenge,” “Homura” and “Akeboshi” as well as “Oath Sign,” “Crossing Field” and “Catch the Moment” for Sword Art Online.

On Instagram, LiSA posted a message to fans in Japanese, English and Traditional Chinese, with the English message below:

“I’d like to share some personal news, that I recently gave birth to my first child.

I’m back stronger than ever, and so excited to continue making music for everyone.

Thank you all for your continued support & I promise I’ll see you soon!

Today’s another great day.”

The message has no mention of when the child was born other than “recently,” nor about her husband, voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki.

The pair were at the center of a scandal in August 2021 when Bunshun Online alleged that the voice actor cheated on his wife with a female fan in her 20s who worked at a recording studio, posting photos of Suzuki and the fan coming out of a hotel together. Suzuki went on a break from public activities due to “physical and mental fatigue” after the article was posted, returning to full activities in March 2022, though with fewer voice-acting roles.

Congratulations to LiSA on the birth of her child and we wish her luck with her new family member.
