Japanese Radio Station J-WAVE Selects Ado’s “New Genesis” as No.1 Song of 2022
Japanese FM radio station J-WAVE announced the top 100 songs of the annual chart for 2022 on January 2. The chart was based on the number of times the song was aired on all J-WAVE programs, as well as music streaming service data, download data, CD sales data, video play counts, Twitter tweet counts, and other factors in cooperation with Billboard Japan.
Of the 1,292 songs entered in the chart, the song that earned the most overall points and won first place was “New Genesis,” the theme song for One Piece Film Red performed by Ado. “Mixed Nuts,” the first opening theme song for the SPY x FAMILY TV anime performed by Official HIGE DANdism, followed in second.
