Gunbuster OVA Series Announces 35th Anniversary Revival Screening Shecdule
The schedule for the 35th anniversary revival theatrical screenings of Gainax-produced OVA series Aim for the Top! Gunbuster and its sequel Aim for the Top 2! Diebuster has been announced.
As Gainax’s first OVA work, the six-episode first series Aim for the Top! Gunbuster was released in Japan from October 1988 to July 1989, with Hideaki Anno directing. Then as the company’s 20th anniversary work, the six-episode sequel Aim for the Top 2! Diebuster directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki followed from November 2004 to August 2006.
The first four episodes (104 minutes) and last two episodes (56 minutes) of Aim for the Top! GunBuster will be screened separately in 12 theaters across Japan from May 26, 2023.
The first four episodes (112 minutes) and last two episodes (61 minutes) of Aim for the Top 2! Diebuster will be screened separately in 12 theaters across Japan from June 9, 2023.
