GRIDMAN UNIVERSE Anime Film’s Newest Trailer Shows the Destruction of Giant Monsters

The GRIDMAN anime franchise is headed to the big screen in March and with it come big battles between the tokusatsu saviors and giant kaiju that rampage. Ahead of the release of the GRIDMAN UNIVERSE anime film on March 24, a brand new trailer was released today previewing the music from the movie alongside the main visual and announcing a new character.

The trailer previews Masayoshi Oishi’s theme song “uni-verse” for the very first time alongside pieces from composer Shiro Sagisu (Evangelion). It was further revealed that Daiki Hamano will be joining the cast of GRIDMAN UNIVERSE as Rex. Hamano previously voiced Gauma in SSSS.DYNAZENON.

SSSS.GRIDMAN was the first project in the newly shared Gridman Universe, which is loosely based on the original Gridman live-action tokusatsu series from 1993 created by Tsuburaya Productions. Tsuburaya teamed up with Trigger for the TV anime series, which then spawned a sequel TV anime, SSSS.DYNAZENON, which aired from April 2, 2021, to June 18, 2021. Crunchyroll is streaming both series.

 

GRIDMAN UNIVERSE is helmed by director Akira Amemiya at Studio TRIGGER and is set to premiere in Japan on March 24.
