Godzilla vs. Megalon is marking its 50th anniversary in 2023, and as part of the festivities celebrating the birth of Jet Jaguar and Megalon (two of the original monster characters first featured in the film), Tokyo and Osaka are holding special film screening / live talk events featuring media of the lovable friendly robot and villainous insect duo.

Both the Tokyo and the Osaka sessions for the “Jet Jaguar & Megalon Birthday Festival” will feature 35mm screenings of Godzilla vs. Megalon (the prints are unfortunately noted as being color-faded), as well as Blu-ray screenings of episodes 09 and 13 of Godzilla: Singular Point, and DVD screenings of episodes of the Godzilla Island Youtube series, all of which feature Jet Jaguar and / or Megalon.

The “Jet Jaguar & Megalon Birthday Festival” events will be held on March 11 at the Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas venue in Tokyo and on March 18 and 19 at the Cine nouveau venue in Osaka. Tickets to the event cost 3500 yen (about $26.11 US) and will be available for purchase beginning on February 22.
