Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo TV Anime Explores Further Mysteries in April

It’s time to get a little bit spooky, because a new key visual and a new cast member have been revealed for Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo (“Mysterious Candy Shop Zenitendo”), an ongoing TV anime based on the popular series of children’s books about a strange traditional candy store that offers supernatural thrills to its clients.

 

In Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo, actor Shinya Ohwada (pictured below) plays the role of Professor Rokujou, a mysterious individual who takes an interest in Zenitendo’s customers and begins to investigate them in secret.

Based on the series of children’s books written by Reiko Hiroshima and illustrated by jyajya, the story of Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo is set in a mysterious candy shop that only fortunate people can find. The shop’s owner, Beniko, offers all sorts of sweets that are custom-designed to ease the worries of the people who eat them…provided the customers follow the rules and consume the candies correctly.

The Fushigi Dagashiya Zenitendo TV anime is directed by Katsumi Ono and features animation production by Toei Animation and Gallop. The new season will broadcast on NHK E TV on Fridays during the 6:40pm time slot beginning in April of 2023. Each episode will run for approximately nine minutes in length.
