FictionJunction’s Sword Art Online 10th Anniversary Theme Song MV Traces Its Long Path

 

 

The official YouTube channel for Yuki Kajiura‘s solo project FictionJunction has posted a music vidoe for “Sokyu no Fanfare” (Fanfare of the Azure Sky), the theme song for the Sword Art Online anime franchise’s 10th anniversary project. The anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series that has printed more than 30 million copies worldwide marks its 10th anniversary this year, and Kajiura has worked on the anime’s soundtrack music since its first TV anime series in 2012.

 

In addition to Kajiura, Eir Aoi, ASCA, and ReoNa, who have sung the theme songs of the previous Sword Art Online anime series, joined as guest vocalists. The music video traces the history of the anime series through the decade.

“Sokyu no Fanfare” was digitally released on October 28 and will also be included in FictionJunction’s forthcoming new album “PARADE” to be released on April 19, 2023.
