FEATURE: What Would the Nakano Sisters Have on Their Wedding Registries in The Quintessential Quintuplets?

The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie

A wedding is a momentous occasion for the couple getting hitched and this weekend it’s time for Fuutaro and one of the Nakano sisters to tie the knot in the latest installment of The Quintessential Quintuplets franchise, The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie. While this is a hugely special time for the couple, as a guest (in such a brilliant venue!) it can be a little daunting to think of a gift for the Quin that has everything — including the guy!

You may think it would be easy to just get some down blankets or embroidered “U hearts N” pillows, but let’s look at some gifts that might be a little more personal for each Quin if they were the one that gets the ring and appears on the wedding registry.

Though to be fair, getting a Fuutaro figure for any of them (other than maybe Itsuki) would be the best gift!

What to get Ichika Nakano for her wedding.

As the oldest sister and the one that is looking to become a star, Ichika would need anything to help her in her future life among the likes of Tom Cruise and The Rock. A personal trainer to make sure she’s always in superhero shape would be handy in case Marvel Studios ever gets on the line — she’d make a great Peni Parker or Jolt!

With that, stunt lessons couldn’t go astray. Both Ichika and Fuutaro could learn how to fall (in style) together with Ichika able to use the moves in the next James Bond flick. A few virtual TikTok gifts would also help bring up Ichika’s online presence and hopefully get her more gigs.

The best gifts to give Nino Nakano on her wedding day.

The best gift for Nino would be a gift card for Fuutaro to get his hair dyed blond, while in this scenario Nino of course loves Fuutaro for who he is, she’d extra LOVE him to be blond again. Heck, get a double gift card and Nino can get her hair done as well.

As a tea lover, a Twining gift set would keep Nino going for months, letting her choose what she wants to drink when she wants. She’ll also be able to use the set to introduce the experience of tea to her new husband and hopefully get him on board. A personalized “U hearts blond N” tea set would also go a mile here.

Wedding day gifts for Miku Nakano.

There are two avenues to go down for a gift for Miku for her wedding with Fuutaro. A couple’s cooking class would be a cute way to get Miku and her new husband on the same page in the kitchen. Fuutaro may love a woman who cooks, but it shouldn’t just be left up to her!

On the other hand, Miku loves nothing more (other than Fuutaro) than feudal Japan. What’s more feudal Japan than samurai? A good sword to strike down the other Nakanos if they get any funny ideas (looking at Nino) or even just a nice decorative suit of armor to sit in the corner of the first Uesugi couple’s apartment would do nicely.

What Yotsuba Nakano would want for her wedding.

The sporty Yotsuba might not need to get in shape, but as a cute present for the couple, she’d want matching Apple Watches, complete with a green band for both her and her new husband. They can go running together and for once, Yotsuba can show Fuutaro the ropes while he’s all exhausted from trying to keep up!

If you don’t want to get too expensive though, a good rug would be nice for the couple to spruce up their living space. Yotsuba in Japanese means “four-leaf clover,” so a rug in the shape of the lucky plant would bring luck to the happy couple! What else do you get the girl who wouldn’t want anything?

The wedding registry of Itsuki Nakano.

Being the Quin with the hottest head, Itsuki would do well with cooling off a little, even if it is her wedding day! A travel voucher for a beach-side resort in Okinawa would not only bring the newlyweds together (or further apart!) but also cool her off while enjoying something she loves: food. You thought that was gonna be Fuutaro? Even he couldn’t top eating food for this sister!

Itsuki, while being the youngest of the Nakanos, is the most motherly toward them, and to a lesser extent, Fuutaro. For her wedding, she’d want to jump start on the whole family thing as soon as possible, all while pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher, just like her mother. This would get her registry filled with all the necessary items to stock a nursery, stationary cupboard and even nice work suits for her and Fuutaro.

Though, considering this is a Japanese wedding, Japanese etiquette applies! As a guest at a Japanese wedding, one usually gives the couple gift money known as Goshugi. The average amount for a friend to give is around 30,000 yen (US$220) if they’re a boss or relative in a higher position than the couple that can jump up to 50,000 (US$360) yen or more — and that’s per person!

There is also etiquette about the bills themselves. Any even numbers, just as 2,000 yen notes, are seen as unlucky as it can be evenly split between the couple and facilitate a divorce, as is avoiding any amounts with 4 or 9 in them, as they’re unlucky numbers in Japan which sound like “death” and “suffering” when spoken aloud. The notes themselves usually are brand new clean crisp and are handed not to the couple, but instead to the server. Don’t worry though, if you remembered to put your name on the envelope of money, you’ll be getting a thank you gift in return from the blissful Uesugi couple!
