Fafner in the Azure: BEHIND THE LINE Promo Introduces angela’s Theme Song

New spinoff episode Fafner in the Azure: BEHIND THE LINE had an advance screening event at the Marunouchi Piccadilly theater in Tokyo this week, providing a great opportunity for another preview to appear online. This one shows off more of the episode while introducing the theme song, “Start again,” performed by angela. 

This is just the latest in a series of themes by angela, as the two-member unit has been providing them for the series since the first TV anime aired in 2004. The digital single will be released on January 20, 2023, which is also when the episode will make its full theatrical debut in Japan. Check out the new preview in the meantime below.

This new anime is a self-contained story, and it was originally teased at the “Sōshi Minashiro Birthday Party 2017” event. It’s being described as a “peaceful spinoff.”

Credit for the original work goes to XEBEC. The anime is being made at Production I.G, with Takashi Noto back to work as the director. The script is being written by Tow Ubukata. Credit for character design goes to Hisashi Hirai. The theme song will be performed by angela. The original actors will all be reprising their roles. And the music is being composed by Tsuneyoshi Saito, who has previously worked on this franchise.
