Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater Live-Action Drama Unveils Main Cast & Streaming Date

 

 

The live-action web drama adaptation of Yasuyuki Kosaka’s fishing-themed manga series Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater is set to start streaming on Japanese mobile phone operator NTT Docomo’s newly-launched streaming service Lemino on June 13, 2023. Lemino is a renewed version of NTT Docomo’s video streaming dTV, whose name is based on the phrase “Let me know.”

The five main cast members are announced as below:

 

  • Hina Tsurugi: Riko (20 / Futsuko in DISTORTION GIRL)
  • Natsumi Hodaka: Natsumi Ikema (20 / Kosaki Onodera in the Nisekoi live-action film)
  • Yuki Kuroiwa: Noa Tsurushima (21 / Is in Kamen Rider Zero-One)
  • Makoto Ohno: Hinako Kikuchi (21 / Ruri Osanai in Tsuki no Michikake)
  • Sayaka Kotani: Ito Ohno (27 / Haruna Nagashima in High School Debut)

 

 

 

Takahiro Horie (Sensei, Would You Sit Beside Me?) serves as director on scripts by Takeshi Miyamoto (Fullmetal Alchemist live-action film series). After the premiere on June 13, new episodes will be added every Tuesday.

 


 

 

The manga has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu since February 2017 and has released ten tankobon volumes, printing over one million copies in total so far. Its TV anime adaptation produced by Doga Kobo was aired for 12 episodes from April to September 2020. All of the episodes are now available on Crunchyroll.

 

Crunchyroll describes its story as below:

 

Introverted Hina Tsurugi is trying to adjust to her new school since moving from the countryside. And in spite of her unease around sea life, classmate Yuuki Kuroiwa somehow convinces her to join the Breakwater Fishing Club. She wants to be open to these new friends and experiences, but some of them are as strange as the fish they’re supposed to hook. Is she biting off more than she can chew?
