After announcing the Delicious in Dungeon TV anime adaptation in August 2022, we’ve heard no shriek, scream or sizzle from the scrumptious series. But after months of being prepared, Kadokawa announced today that the first teaser trailer will be dished out on the company’s YouTube channel on May 25 at 9 PM Japan time.

While more details are likely to be announced for the Delicious in Dungeon TV anime adaptation when the teaser releases, what we know so far is that Studio Trigger, known for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Little Witch Academia, will be handling the animation production. However, the staff has not been confirmed.

The original Delicious in Dungeon manga, known as Dungeon Meshi in Japanese, is created by Ryoko Kui, with 12 volumes currently released in Japanese. Yen Press, which publishes the manga’s official English version, describes the first volume as such:

When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
