The original Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s Flowers josei manga magazine. The story follows Sara, a gentle-hearted princess, and Naranbayar, an impressionable young architect, who are forced to pretend to be husband and wife for the sake of their two hostile countries. Before they know it, they fall in love for real, and their romance promises to create a miracle that no one has seen before.

Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom is directed by Kotono Watanabe and features animation production by MADHOUSE. The film hits theaters in Japan on January 27, 2023.
