Chibi Maruko-chan Anime Prepares for Third Planetarium Show

Chibi Maruko-chan meets Night on the Galactic Railroad in a new planetarium show!

The long-running anime, based on the works of Momoko Sakura, is preparing to host its third planetarium feature. This one, titled Planetarium Chibi Maruko-chan: Enchanted by the Southern Cross, will introduce Maruko to a new friend. Jim, a boy from Australia who loves to look at the stars, teaches Maruko and her friend Tamae about the Southern Cross constellation. Then, they journey together into the world of Kenji Miyazawa‘s classic novel Night on the Galactic Railroad.

The story is brand new and written exclusively for the planetarium show. It’s described as enjoyable for kids and adults alike, and “heartwarming and slightly sad.”
