Chainsaw Man Pochita VA Shiori Izawa Gets Her First Photo Book “mascotte” in February 2023
Japanese publisher Shufunotomo Infos has announced that voice actress Shiori Izawa‘s (Pochita in Chainsaw Man, Nanachi in Made in Abyss) first photo book entitled “mascotte” is set to be released on February 1, 2023, her 36th birthday.
The location for the 112-page all-color photo book is Okinawa, where she visited for the first time. The book captures her charms from various point of views: “from a friend’s point of view,” “from a sibling’s point of view,” “from a lover’s point of view,” and “from a cat’s point of view.” In addition to casual and fashionable outfits, swimsuits, lingerie, and cat cosplay are also shown.
Message from Shiori Izawa:
When I had just debuted, I didn’t know how to smile or pose, and I even went to a shrine to pray for a good photo shoot. I had so few opportunities to have my picture taken in the first place, but I had no idea that 16 years after my debut, I would have a photo book published. Accumulation is a great thing (laughs).
My long-cherished wish to shoot on location in Okinawa! And this time, I was able to have Takeshi Okamoto-san, the photographer I asked for while preparing myself for a possible rejection, take the photos. The book is filled with various situations that can be enjoyed from various angles, from the perspective of friends, siblings, lovers, and a cat.
Please don’t say “10 years too late!” (laugh). I think I probably look better than I did 10 years ago. Please enjoy the me that I can show because it’s “now.”
