Cat Shit One OVA Gets Kickstarter Campaign for New Home Video Release

2022 seems to be 2010 as a new Kickstarter campaign has been launched to release the controversial 3D animated OVA known in the west as Cat Shit One once again. The OVA is based on the manga by Motofumi Kobayashi about cute animals engaging in the horrors of war and was previously released in a now rare DVD edition way back in 2011.

The newly announced campaign is meant to completely remaster the short on Blu-Ray for modern equipment and the release is also planned to feature an additional 3D Blu-Ray disc that will be compatible with both generations of the PlayStation VR headset, or a less common 3D Blu-Ray player with supported glasses and display for complete immersion when viewing the OVA, if the initial funding goal is met. The Kickstarter campaign is currently underway until January 15 of next year and is seeking $73,675 (¥10 million) to cover production costs.
