Bucchigiri?! TV Anime Comes from MAPPA in January 2024

Bucchigiri?! was revealed this weekend as a new original TV anime from MAPPA, mixing up school delinquents with the Middle Eastern folktales known as One Thousand and One Nights. The story follows a young man named Aladdin Tomobishi, who reunites with his former best friend Matakara Asamine and soon finds himself sucked into a battle to see who is the strongest. There’s also… a genie looming, of course!

The series—which has Hiroko Utsumi directing and Taku Kishimoto handling series composition alongside character designer and chief animation director Takahiro Kagami at MAPPA—is currently set to premiere in January 2024, and you can see a teaser trailer and visual below.
