BLUELOCK TV Anime Heads to the Field in New Video Previewing Ending Theme

The time is almost here for kick-off with only a few short weeks until the TV anime adaptation of the popular BLUELOCK manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura. Ahead of the starting whistle, a brand new trailer for the anime was released previewing the ending theme song “WINNER” from Shugo Nakamura alongside the news that the anime will air over two consecutive seasons.

The BLUELOCK begins on October 8 at 25:30 JST (effectively, October 9 at 1:30 AM) in the NUMAnimation programming block, with Tetsuaki Watanabe (Haikyu!! episode director) leading the team as the director at anime studio eightbit. Crunchyroll will be streaming the series as part of its Fall 2022 anime season in both subbed and dubbed formats.

 

 Kodansha releases the manga series in English, describing it as such:

 

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players.
