Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War Shares English-Subtitled Trailer
During the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 event over the weekend, a new trailer dropped for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, the upcoming anime that will go over the remainder of the Bleach manga. The subtitled trailer is just over half a minute, and you can hear the Japanese actors for Ichigo, Uryu, Chad, and Orihime.
Lucky American fans will get their first chance at seeing Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War on October 8, when it will receive a sneak peek at New York Comic Con. It officially debuts in Japan on October 10 and will receive a simultaneous streaming.
The anime is being made at Studio Pierrot, with Tomohisa Taguchi of Twin Star Exorcists working as the director. The music is being composed by Shiro Sagisu, and character design falls to Masashi Kudo.
The opening theme song will be called “Scar” and performed by Tatsuya Kitani. Meanwhile, the ending theme song will be called “Saihate” (translated as “The Farthest Reaches”) and performed by SennaRin.
Looking toward the Japanese cast, Masakazu Morita plays Ichigo Kurosaki, Fumiko Orikasa plays Rukia Kuchiki, Noriaki Sugiyama plays Uryu Ishida, Yuki Matsuoka plays Orihime Inoue, Hiroki Yasumoto plays Yasutora Sado, Kentaro Ito plays Renji Abarai, Shinichiro Miki plays Kisuke Urahara, and Satsuki Yukino plays Yoruichi Shihoin. Binbin Takaoka is playing Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto, since the character’s original voice actor Masaaki Tsukada has passed away.
The arc for this anime is covered in volumes 55-74 of the manga. VIZ publishes the original Bleach manga in English, and gave this description for the fifty-fifth volume:
“The peace is suddenly broken when warning sirens blare through the Soul Society. Residents there are disappearing without a trace, and nobody knows who’s behind it. Meanwhile, a dark shadow is also extending itself toward Ichigo and his friends in Karakura Town…”
