Beelzebub Manga Author Prepares to Launch New Series

beelzebubA new manga is officially on the way from Beelzebub creator Ryuhei Tamura, and we won’t have to wait long for its debut. According to the April issue of Shogakukan’s Sunday GX magazine, Tamura is set to debut a new series in the next issue, which hits stands in Japan on April 19. The series will appear on the cover of the magazine and the 80-page first chapter will include a color opening page.

The story will center on high school student Kaede Mizumori, who can see through people’s lies. Things change when Kaede encounters a mysterious student named Rin Homura, and the magazine slyly teases that the story is about “an alien and ___,” intentionally obscuring the last word.

In addition to the Beelzebub manga, which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2009 to 2014, Tamura also worked on the Hungry Marie and Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin manga series, the latter of which ran in Jump from June 2020 to June 2021 and was collected in five volumes.
