AYAKA Original TV Anime Gets Supernatural on July 1
Bonds are tested in a new preview video (below) for AYAKA, an upcoming original TV anime that will broadcast in Japan beginning on July 01, 2023. The broadcast schedule for AYAKA is as follows:
- TOKYO MX: every Saturday during the 25:00 time slot beginning on July 1, 2023.
- BS11: every Saturday during the 25:00 time slot beginning on July 1, 2023.
- AT-X: every Tuesday during the 23:30 time slot beginning on July 4, 2023, with repeat broadcasts on Thursdays at 10:30 and Saturdays at 16:30.
- Hokkaido Television Broadcasting: every Monday during the 25:55 time slot beginning on July 3, 2023.
Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming for the previous day, so for example the 25:00 time slot on Saturday evening is actually at 1:00am JST on Sunday morning.
Additionally, four new cast members have been announced for the series, including:

AYAKA is directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama and features animation production by Studio Blanc. Crunchyroll will stream the series as part of its summer 2023 anime simulcast lineup, describing the story of AYAKA as follows:
The story follows Yukito Yanagi, an orphan who one day encounters an eccentric disciple of his father’s. The strange man takes him to his birthplace on Ayakajima, made up of seven islands where mysterious beings called “Mitama” and dragons are rumored to reside. There, Yukito meets his father’s two other disciples, who protect the harmony of Ayakajima… which soon threatens to collapse.
