To commemorate the moment in history, the Japanese voice actor for Ash, who is named Satoshi in the Japanese version of the Pokémon anime, Rica Matsumoto performed an emotional rendition of the remix of the original Pokémon anime theme “Mezase Pokémon Master -with my friends-” on THE FIRST TAKE.

THE FIRST TAKE is a Sony Music Entertainment Japan initiative that has singers perform their hit songs in just one take in a minimally-styled studio which has the performer sing in, as the video description says “ONE TAKE ONLY, ONE LIFE ONLY.”
