AnimeJapan 2023 Celebrated 100,000 Attendees Over Two-Day Weekend

AnimeJapan

The biggest anime event in the world occurred last weekend at Tokyo Big Sight–AnimeJapan. And while all the news from the event was massive in its own right, the event itself celebrated a huge return to form for its 10th anniversary and with it brought 100,000 through the doors, the event announced today.

The 100,000 attendance over the two-day is still lower than the 2019 event, the last outing for AnimeJapan before the COVID-19 pandemic began, which saw 146,000 people attend. The 2023 event was the first “complete” event since then with the 2020 event canceled outright, the 2021 was an online only event and 2022 saw AnimeJapan be online with a limited in-person event.

Alongside the attendee news, AnimeJapan revealed that the 2024 event will have its public days held on March 23 and March 24, once again at Tokyo Big Sight. The tagline for AnimeJapan 2024 is “Anime Never Stops!”
