Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni Theatrical Anime Film Adds Seven Cast Members
Seven new cast additions have been revealed for Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni (“Gold Kingdom, Water Kingdom”), an upcoming theatrical anime film based on the fantasy romance manga by Nao Iwamoto about a pair of star-crossed lovers whose romance will shape the future of two rival countries. The new cast additions (pictured below) include:
- Hiroshi Kamiya as Saladine.
- Miyuki Sawashiro as Lailala.
- Subaru Kimura as Jauhara.
- Keiko Toda as Leopoldine.
- Chafûrin as Piripappa.
- Masaki Terasoma as Oduni.
- And Banjō Ginga as Rastavan III.

The original Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni manga was serialized in Shogakukan’s Flowers josei manga magazine. The story follows Sara, a gentle-hearted princess, and Naranbayar, an impressionable young architect, who are forced to pretend to be husband and wife for the sake of their two hostile countries. Before they know it, they fall in love for real, and their romance promises to create a miracle that no one has seen before.
Kin no Kuni Mizu no Kuni is directed by Kotono Watanabe and features animation production by MADHOUSE. The film hits theaters in Japan on January 27, 2023.
